TRINITY MEDICAL CENTRE IS CLOSED – PLEASE REGISTER AT ANOTHER PRACTICE

What do I need to do now?

Please re-register with another local practice. Once you have done this, you medical records will be transferred electronically to your new practice. To assist you with making your choice, included here is a table of nearby practices who have confirmed they are registering new patients. To make it easier to re-register during this period of time, local practices are able to accept registrations online, by email or by contacting them by phone. Please ensure that you have checked your home postcode is within the catchment area for the practice you are looking to register with; you can do this on the practice’s website.

Please note, there may be other GP Practices that are closer to where you live. You can go online to https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-gp to search for local practices using the ‘Find GP Services’ tool. You will also find useful information and patient reviews on this website to help you make your decision, or you may prefer to speak to the local surgery of your choice directly. Staff in those practices can answer queries and support you through the registration process.

We strongly advise that you register with another GP Practice as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact SEL CCG on 020 3930 0100 or by email at BROCCG.ContactUs@nhs.net. This information is available in alternative languages and formats, upon request.

Statement on closure from Bromley CCG

CLOSURE OF THE TRINITY MEDICAL PRACTICE

The Trinity Medical Centre in Penge will close on 30 June 2020. Patients were sent details about the closure and the reasons for this decision in March. All patients are now encouraged to register with neighbouring GP practices.

From 1 April 2020 to 30 June 2020, the Bromley GP Alliance will be providing GP services at the practice and assist with the preparation of its closure. Bromley GP Alliance will be responsible for ensuring the safe move of all patients into neighbouring GP practices. They will be in contact with all patients from April and give you the opportunity to discuss any aspects of your care then.

We are looking at how patients from Trinity Medical Practice can register at a new practice over the phone or online, as there are restrictions on visiting GP practices due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). We will provide more information shortly on how you can do this.

Important information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough and a high temperature, you are advised to stay at home for 7 days. Please do not book a GP appointment or attend your GP practice. If you live with other people, they should stay at home for at least 14 days, to avoid spreading the infection outside the home. After 14 days, anyone you live with who does not have symptoms can return to their normal routine. But, if anyone in your home gets symptoms, they should stay at home for 7 days from the day their symptoms start. Even if it means they’re at home for longer than 14 days. The most up-to-date public guidance is always online at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus If your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do. Only call 111 direct if you are advised to do so by the online service or you cannot go online.

Announcement from Bromley CCG

Announcement for all patients of Trinity Medical Centre
Following significant efforts over the last 18 months, NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group working closely with local partners has been unable to secure premises to accommodate Trinity Medical Practice after 30th June 2020. After this time, the current practice premises will have been sold by the owners. Closing a GP practice is always the very last resort, and despite robust and multiple efforts, it has not been possible to secure premises within the time, money or geographical constraints faced. Therefore, the only option remaining and the only responsible plan to safeguard patient access to GP services is for the practice to close and patients to be asked to register with a new GP practice of their choice that covers their home address.  This will be confirmed at the Bromley Primary Care Commissioning Committee meeting on Thursday 26th March 2020.

Please note that full communications with patients, including a letter to all registered patients’ homes and two patient engagement events, will take place during March. Further communications such as text messages, a second letter to all remaining patients and telephone calls to assist vulnerable patients will take place after 1st April. All local politicians and other interested parties have been briefed on what is happening and why. Bromley CCG are actively supporting local GP practices to register new patients and working together to ensure patient handover and concerns are managed sensitively and effectively over the coming months.

Bromley CCG is holding two meetings for patients of Trinity Medical Practice to explain the changes, how they can register at an alternative practice and to answer their questions. These meetings will take place at Anerley Town Hall, Anerley Road, Anerley, London SE20 8BD, on:

·         Wednesday 11th March, 12.30-1.30pm
·         Monday 16th March, 6-7pm

All registered patients of Trinity Medical Centre have been sent a letter which sets out the details of these changes and what they need to do now. You can register your interest in attending one of the patient meetings by emailing broccg.contactus@nhs.net

Update from Bromley CCG re Trinity Medical Centre

Dear Patients, we have received the following statement from Bromley CCG:

“Following the retirement of the former GP partners at Trinity Medical Centre in September 2018, a ‘caretaking’ contract has been put into place to allow primary care services to continue at the surgery. The caretaker contract, which is held by the company Penceat Medical Ltd., is due to expire on 31st March 2020, after which time it is the intention of the owner of the Trinity premises at 33 Croydon Road to sell the property.

Bromley CCG and our partners have been working hard over the last 18 months to identify alternative locations in the Penge and Anerley area to accommodate the surgery after March 2020. Closure of a GP practice is highly undesirable and always a last resort when there are no other options available. Therefore we will continue our attempts with local partners and agencies to try to secure an alternative venue over the coming months.

Bromley CCG will reconvene the Primary Care Commissioning Committee (a body of clinicians, officers and lay members that takes primary care related decisions) in mid-February to make a decision on this matter. We will advertise the date, time and location of the meeting with sufficient advance notice to allow members of the public to attend. We are committed to ensuring there are high quality, responsive and effective primary care services available to all of our residents.

Further enquiries from the public should be directed to broccg.contactus@nhs.net or call 020 3930 0100.”
